What Does Workers' Compensation Cover?
Workers' compensation insurance provides four main types of benefits to injured employees: medical benefits (covering all necessary medical treatment related to the work injury), disability benefits (replacing a portion of lost wages while the employee can't work), rehabilitation benefits (covering physical therapy and vocational rehabilitation), and death benefits (paid to the dependents of employees who die as a result of a work-related injury or illness). In exchange for these benefits, employees generally give up their right to sue their employer for negligence — protecting your business from costly litigation.
